Rainforest Art

In Year 4O we are studying rainforests as our topic this term. In art lessons, we have studied the work of French artist Henri Rousseau. In groups, children discussed what coloured plants we would expect to see and the different types of animals that live in each layer of the rainforest. We used very simple pure colours in our art work with clear outlines, and following Rousseau’s idea painted jungle animals in the foreground and lush green plants in the background using defined outlines.
