I’ve been at IBSB for ten years now, starting in year 2 and carrying on all the way through to Year 13. At a school like IBSB, is it important to take advantage of every opportunity offered to you, which for me meant performing in school plays, joining the girl’s football team, being a debater, an avid public speaker, and regular MUN participant. It also meant representing my fellow students on the Student Council, being a House Camp in my senior years, being selected to be the Events Prefect in Year 12, and finally Head Girl in Year 13. I took part in many school charity projects and represented IBSB around the world. My experience was quite immersive and truly wonderful. It was an educational experience that I would honestly wish for everyone…

Although my mind is not completely made up, at the moment I see myself Although my mind is not completely made up, at the moment I see myself heading into the public sector to pursue a career in economics. I am not sure where in the world this will happen, but studying at UCL in London has certainly been wonderful so far, so I may decide to stay  on in London opt work for a while at least post-graduation.

IBSB has helped me become a determined and focused person. The teachers at IBSB always encouraged me to aim for the best; providing more challenging tasks when completing my work, having prefect role models around me available to help and setting the standard as the most hard-working students and constantly raising the bar.

I think that my most treasured memories from IBSB would be from all the debate competitions and MUN conferences, especially those outside Romania offering me the chance to see the world and make friends from other international schools, many of whom I am still in regular contact with and have reconnected with at UCL.

It would be an impossible task to single out a few teachers that have had a positive impact on my high school life. I am very happy to state that my IBSB teachers have not only been wonderful within the classroom, making sure I excel at my chosen subjects, but have also been great conversation partners and trusted advisers when needed.

Skills relating to social interactions and public speaking have been my most useful assets post-graduation so far. As a result of the many weekly school assembly presentations, debating and public speaking competitions organised by the school, and other initiatives encouraged by IBSB to better our interactions with the outside world, I have been able to easily make new friends at university, address my peers, and converse with my professors.
