Attending the Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9) Taster Day at IBSB on Thursday, the 8th of May 2025 will offer you and your children the chance to experience our academic programme first-hand.
You will be able to talk directly with our students to find out about their personal learning journey, meet the teachers and the school leadership team, and discover how we inspire, support, and celebrate student achievement on a day to day basis within a caring and friendly community. Taster Lessons: children will take part in fun, interactive sessions across a range of subjects – from science and maths to drama.
Experience Real School Life: spend the day alongside our current students, meet our passionate teachers, and explore our facilities.
Meet & Greet: parents can chat with our leadership team, pastoral staff, and admissions team to ask questions and learn more about what we offer.
8:30 AM – Morning Registration & Tutor Time
Start the day with your form group and tutor – a time for announcements, wellbeing check-ins, and getting set for the day ahead.
9:00 AM – Morning Lessons
Mornings often begin with core academic lessons such as English, Maths, or Science.
10:45 AM – Break Time
A chance to relax, grab a snack, and catch up with friends.
11:00 AM – Creative & Practical Subjects
Lessons might include Art, Music, or Computing – every day is different!
1:05 PM – Lunch
Enjoy a hot meal or packed lunch, with time to unwind or join clubs and activities.
1:55 PM – Afternoon Sessions
These might include History, Geography, PE, or Modern Foreign Languages.
4:00 PM – End of the Day
Many students stay for after-school activities, from sports teams to coding club or school productions.
It’s a well-rounded day that balances academic challenge with creative exploration and personal development.
This event is ideal for students in Years 6–8 (or those preparing to transition into Key Stage 3), along with their parents or guardians.
